| Is a bachelor's degree in computer information systems at a technical school, such as Devry, comparable to the same degree from a university? |

| Of couse it is. I know employers have been taking people with degrees from Devry for a while. And Devry is now considered a university. I currently attend the one here in NY. |

Right, but there's one thing. The quality of the university has gone down to the level of say, "DeVry" and so many employers are currently complaining about the quality of employees they get. It's all about quality over quantity, and those technical schools are aways about quantity and now so are the universities.
My suggestion is get your degree where you can, though make sure it's creditible. Then follow it up with your own experence. If your studing Programming, then go get Linux and learn how to program while you're working on your degree. Same goes for what ever else, get into what you are studing.
If your studing website design, then go to the same sites and boards that the designers goto and also host your own web sites. If your working on an IT degree, then go try to create a intranet for your home and hook it up to the internet.
What I'm getting at is work with what ever it is your doing while you get your degree to back up and show proof of your experence. That way you can have experence and a degree so you'll be ahead of everone else.
Oh, and one more thing. Go where the big fish are if its popular on the net or in that field, then there's a reason. |
