What would you say to someone with no recent experience in their desired field (IT) but has been spending the last 5 years updating their knowledge. In the 80's I was a consultant/programmer who specialized in supply chain solutions with the new MicroComputers. Those computers then don't even exist today. In the 90's I was on disability for a medical situation that was corrected in 2000. In the last several years I've gotten an AS in CS, A+, Network+, Security+, MCP. I'm a Cisco ...

I know this is an old post but let me get something off my chest anyway. Since I'm reentering the work force after 15 years (for medical reasons) I've been contemplating that issue heavily. (If he, Tupac, could have that positive an attitude in the middle of his situation then I have to learn to live with mine!) Recently I've been reading some biographies of the "founding fathers". I was amazed at John ...

Can I assume that certain types of music wouldn't be advisable? Hiphop/rap and big band for example. Both are irritating to some but I'm a big fan of both Will.I.am (Black Eyed Peas) and Count Basie. I might want to keep my collection of Bhangra (Indian dance mixed with hiphop) and Rai (pop music from Algeria) to myself. I think I'll stick with smooth jazz at work.
