We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our accounting team. The ideal candidate will assist with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in processing transactions, maintaining records, and providing administrative support. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for numbers and organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice preparation, data entry, and reconciliation.
Process payments, record transactions, and verify accuracy in financial records.
Prepare bank deposits, verify and reconcile discrepancies, and monitor cash flow.
Maintain and update financial documents, spreadsheets, and accounting databases.
Support payroll processing by collecting and verifying time records and ensuring compliance.
Assist with month-end and year-end closings, including account reconciliations and reporting.
Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal teams to resolve billing and payment issues.
Prepare and distribute financial reports, summaries, and statements as needed.
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable financial regulations.
Provide administrative support to the accounting team, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree or coursework in accounting or finance is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a related role, such as bookkeeping or accounting support.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational and analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and discretion.
