An accounts payable professional is responsible for managing the payment of invoices and ensuring timely settlement of financial obligations for an organization. Their duties include verifying and processing vendor invoices, reconciling statements, and maintaining accurate records of financial transactions. Accounts payable specialists collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and address payment-related inquiries. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software are crucial for the efficient processing of accounts payable tasks.
Duties/Responsibilities:
-Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
-Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
-Classify, record, and summarize numerical and financial data to compile and keep financial records using journals, ledgers, or computers.
-Debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases using specialized accounting software.
-Operate 10-key calculators and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents. Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
-Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
-Compile statistical, financial, accounting, or auditing reports and tables about such matters as cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, and profits and losses. -Code documents according to company procedures.
-Reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records.
Requirements -Associates Degree (required)
Bachelors degree (preferred)
-Experience with 3-way matching
-7000 key strokes minimum data entry
