Immediate need for an Accounts Payable Specialist seeking to work for a well-established construction company in the East Bay Area. Our Client in the Construction Industry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join the team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to subcontractors and vendors, and maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:
Invoice Processing: Review, verify, and process invoices from subcontractors and vendors.
Payment Management: Ensure timely and accurate payments to subcontractors and vendors, including handling preliminary notices and lien releases.
Compliance: Collect and verify compliance documents from subcontractors to ensure timely payments.
Reconciliation: Perform daily bank reconciliations and update accounting software with current payments.
Documentation: Coordinate with internal project management teams to collect monthly billing and ensure all documentation is complete.
Training and Support: Assist with the implementation and testing of CMiC software, create training materials, and lead training sessions for new users.
Permit and License Management: Coordinate the preparation and submission of construction permits and manage business licenses to ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
Problem Solving: Assist the Subcontract Payable Team with any issues and problem-solve with internal teams and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience in accounts payable, preferably in the construction industry.
Proficiency in CMiC and MS Office Suite.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of compliance requirements and industry regulations.
