Our client is a leading right-of-way consulting company in Southern California. We are seeking a qualified Acquisition Agent to work within our easement acquisition department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual looking to be a part of a stable, well-established firm.

POSITION: Acquisition Agent

JOB DESCRIPTION: This non-supervisory position is responsible for the analysis of electric utility design packages and accurately preparing right-of-way easement documents to support the construction of overhead and underground electric facilities on private property. The Agent will act as the primary liaison between Landowners (Grantors) and the Utility Company (Grantee) to successfully negotiate terms of the proposed easement agreements. The Agent reviews and writes basic land descriptions of easement take areas. The Agent examines a variety of land title records, maps, documents, and performs land title analysis. The Agent communicates directly with landowners, developers, utility consultants, planners and client staff to negotiate and acquire notarized and executed easement documents from landowners and their legal representatives.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously with strong organization and analytical skills.
•Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
•Demonstrate the ability to obtain and interpret Tract Maps, Parcel Maps, Assessor Maps, Records of Surveys, land development plans, deeds and other real estate documents
•Demonstrate a high level of proficiency with a personal computer, related software and online search programs
•Previous right of way (ROW) or real estate acquisition experience in a high volume and fast paced environment
• Handle a very large workload with 100% responsibility for the assigned projects
• Proficient with MS Excel and other project tracking software
• Skilled negotiator and communicator with clear and accurate written/spoken English
• Bi-lingual is a big plus
• AutoCAD skills is a plus


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•Graduation from a four-year college or university with major course work in a related discipline or a combination of formal training and related education is preferred
•Experience preparing basic lot/block legal descriptions and reviewing metes & bounds land descriptions
•Certification as a California Notary Public and Real Estate Salesperson is desired but not required
•Currently lives within 50 miles of Orange, CA or will relocate with no relocation assistance

Previous Work Experience:
•Two (2) or more years of experience performing Dry Utility Coordination, Right-of-Way Acquisition or Real Estate Industry experience in a professional office environment is highly desired.

COMPENSATION:
Competitive pay rate + benefits package including a 401K plan. Actual hourly pay rate will be based on candidate qualifications & experience.
