Job Description: Insurance Defense Associate Attorney

Overview: Our A/V rated law firm in Downtown Orlando is actively seeking a highly motivated and dedicated associate attorney with 2–6 years of experience in insurance defense, personal injury, and 1st/3rd party casualty claims. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for litigation. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team where you will handle a diverse caseload and work with seasoned professionals in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
--Manage a caseload of insurance defense, personal injury, and casualty claims, including first and third-party matters.
--Handle heavy litigation, including pre-trial motions, depositions, discovery, mediations, and trials.
--Perform legal research and draft clear, concise legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements.
--Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to move cases forward efficiently.
--Provide legal advice and strategy to clients, ensuring the highest level of client service.
--Juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, maintaining attention to detail and organization.
--Collaborate with the team and take part in brainstorming sessions for case strategy and development.
--Attend court hearings, depositions, and trials as required.
Qualifications:
--2-6 years of experience in insurance defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, and 1st/3rd party casualty claims. Plaintiff experience will also be considered.
--Strong litigation experience, including managing cases from inception through trial.
--Excellent written and oral communication skills.
--Ability to handle a large caseload and prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
--Strong analytical and research skills.
--Self-motivated, able to work independently, but also thrive in a team-oriented environment.
--High level of professionalism and commitment to delivering quality work.
--Must be licensed to practice law in Florida.
Additional Preferences:
--Defense experience is preferred, but plaintiff experience will be considered.
--Med mal or heavy litigation experience is a plus.
