Our client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Bilingual Accounting Clerk with specialized payroll experience to join our growing team. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing and supporting our overall accounting operations.

Job Summary:

The Bilingual Accounting Clerk (Payroll Specialist) will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, as well as providing support in general accounting functions. This role requires fluency in both English and Spanish, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll regulations and accounting principles.

Responsibilities:

Payroll Management:
Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll, including calculating wages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
Prepare and submit payroll tax filings (e.g., 941, W-2, state unemployment).
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data in payroll software.
Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries.
Manage employee benefits deductions and garnishments.
Generate payroll reports and analyses.

Accounting Support:
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
Prepare and enter journal entries.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
Assist with audits and financial reporting.
Perform data entry into accounting software.

Bilingual Communication:
Communicate effectively with employees, vendors, and clients in both English and Spanish.
Translate documents and communications as required.
Provide excellent customer service in both languages.

Administrative Tasks:
Maintain organized filing systems.
Assist with general office duties as needed.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken).
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.  
Ability to maintain confidentiality.  
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
