Job Description:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Building Engineer with commercial experience to oversee the maintenance and operation of our commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join a dynamic team and play a key role in maintaining the functionality, safety, and efficiency of our properties.

Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, troubleshooting issues and performing repairs as needed to minimize downtime and ensure tenant satisfaction.
Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and inspections to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance of building systems.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with building codes and regulations.
Monitor building systems and equipment performance, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and cost savings.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventory, and work orders using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Assist in the development and implementation of capital improvement projects and building upgrades to enhance property value and tenant satisfaction.
Collaborate with property management team members to address tenant concerns, resolve issues, and ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all occupants.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA guidelines, and promote a culture of safety among building occupants and staff.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Building Engineer, with a focus on commercial properties.
Strong knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systems.
Experience with preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting, and repair of building equipment and systems.
Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order management and tracking.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with tenants, vendors, and team members.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Hold relevant certifications such as HVAC/R, electrical, or plumbing licenses preferred.
