Join our team as an Underwriting Specialist and play a vital role in facilitating the underwriting process for our clients!
As an Underwriting Specialist, you will be the key point of contact between our clients and insurance carriers, ensuring a smooth and efficient underwriting experience. Your primary responsibility will be to advocate for our clients, manage their cases meticulously, and drive timely approvals. You will also be providing the highest level of customer service throughout the entire process.
Responsibilities:
Proactive Case Management: Regularly review and take appropriate action on all assigned cases at predetermined intervals to ensure progress and minimize delays.
Underwriting Facilitation: Take all necessary steps to shepherd files through the underwriting process, which includes but is not limited to:
Contacting physician's offices to obtain medical records and information.
Communicating effectively with insurance carriers to address questions, provide updates, and expedite the review process.
Collaborating with brokers and vendors to gather required documentation and information.
Expedited Approval: Proactively work to ensure each case is approved in a timely manner, minimizing processing times and client frustration.
Data Entry and Documentation: Accurately input application information and meticulously document all case activities and communications within our Agent Front (or designated) System.
Caseload Management: Successfully manage an assigned caseload and consistently meet established performance quotas.
Timely Communication: Respond to all inquiries promptly and professionally via email and telephone, adhering to established communication timeliness standards.
Qualifications:
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
