We are seeking a Chief Estimator with extensive experience in commercial exterior construction (multi-family, hotels, retail) to lead our estimating and purchasing teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of siding materials, particularly Hardie products, and be highly proficient in software programs, with Excel being a must.

About the Role
As Chief Estimator, you will oversee all estimating and procurement processes while leading a talented team. Your role will be crucial in developing best practices, influencing supplier pricing and incentive programs, and driving our overall Get Work strategies. You will be responsible for ensuring estimates are completed accurately, on time, and within targeted profitability expectations. Additionally, you’ll work closely with Field Operations to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Establish and implement best practice methods for estimating and procurement.
Oversee the entire bid process, from invitation to bid to final submission.
Manage and mentor a team of estimators, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all proposals.
Analyze past project performance to refine estimating standards and improve future accuracy.
Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to optimize material pricing and delivery schedules.
Conduct value engineering assessments to find cost-effective solutions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction cost trends, materials, and labor rates.
Ensure continuous feedback loops between estimating and project execution teams.
Identify risks and proactively address them.
Develop and present detailed cost estimates for a variety of commercial projects.
What You Bring
Minimum 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proficiency in estimating software and strong Excel skills.
Deep knowledge of commercial exterior construction materials, including siding and Hardie products.
Strong relationships with suppliers, builders, and manufacturer representatives.
A strategic mindset, with a passion for refining processes and driving efficiencies.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Additional certifications are a plus.
Ability to lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team.
Experience in client-facing roles, negotiating, and presenting estimates.
