We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our Denver-based team.
Position Overview:
The CAD Designer will be responsible for the design and layout of utility-scale renewable power plants. This role requires expertise in AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D, along with the ability to produce high-quality drawings and models that meet project standards. Working under the direction of senior designers and engineers, you’ll help create layouts, grading designs, roadway plans, and more, contributing to projects that support sustainable energy goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce optimal designs for utility-scale renewable power plants, including solar and wind projects.
Develop and update CAD models and drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D, delivering solar PV layouts, grading designs, earthwork cut/fill calculations, roadway plans, equipment pads, and foundation plans.
Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D to work with mapping, surveying, and topographic data from various coordinate systems.
Ensure the technical quality and accuracy of CAD work, adhering to project standards and contractual requirements.
Use the company’s document and drawing management systems to organize and manage project documents.
Demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.
Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in engineering, CAD design, or related field OR a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.
Certification in Autodesk University, AutoCAD, and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in AutoCAD drawing production and management.
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Map 3D.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
A proactive, self-motivated team player with excellent attention to detail and the ability to collaborate effectively.
