Senior Engineer, PE/Engineering Division Manager (Land Development - either working for a municipality or a consulting company who did the engineering for the municipality)
Responsible for planning, coordinating, and reviewing advanced-level engineering activities. This includes environmental planning, compliance, design, construction, and traffic engineering. The role manages complex projects, ensures compliance with regulations, and provides leadership to staff. Responsibilities include overseeing the City’s Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects, developing policies, managing contracts, and coordinating with various agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage complex engineering activities and projects.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and construction regulations.
• Supervise and provide direction to assigned staff.
• Oversee the implementation of division goals, policies, and procedures.
• Administer project budgets and contracts.
• Conduct reviews of civil engineering designs and plans.
• Participate in capital project bidding and grant applications.
• Coordinate and manage the collection, analysis, and reporting of traffic engineering studies.
• Attend meetings, present reports, and respond to public inquiries.
Qualifications:
• Experience: 4+ years of professional civil engineering and project management experience.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Licenses/Certifications:
o Professional Civil Engineer license required.
o Additional certifications such as Land Surveyor, Traffic Engineer, or SWPPP Practitioner/Developer are desirable.
Skills:
• Strong knowledge of public works engineering, project management, and civil engineering principles.
• Ability to supervise staff, manage projects, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in research, data analysis, and engineering software.
