We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Accountant to manage our financial records and ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting within the construction industry, excellent analytical skills, and a keen understanding of project cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
Prepare and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and financial statements to support project management and decision-making.
Monitor and report on project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying variances.
Collaborate with project managers to track project profitability and provide financial insights.
Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Assist with audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
Maintain accurate records of contracts, change orders, and related financial documentation.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial practices in the construction industry.
Provide financial guidance and support to project teams and management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on the construction industry preferred.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations specific to the construction industry.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including project managers, contractors, and clients.
