Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Account professional to manage financial transactions, job costing, and reporting for our construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, industry-specific financial processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers and executives.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL) entries.
Process invoices, subcontractor payments, and purchase orders while ensuring compliance with contract terms.
Perform job cost accounting, track project budgets, and generate financial reports.
Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and payroll entries.
Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
Monitor and track progress billings, retainage, and lien releases.
Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, tax filings, and industry-specific requirements.
Collaborate with project managers to analyze financial data and provide cost-saving recommendations.
Maintain accurate documentation and assist with audits as needed.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
Knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) reporting, and AIA billing.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 300 (Timberline), Procore, or Viewpoint Vista.
Strong understanding of GAAP and tax regulations related to construction.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with payroll processing and certified payroll for government projects.
Familiarity with lien laws, prevailing wages, and subcontractor compliance.
