Salary: $180K or DOE
The Tax Manager oversees corporate and indirect taxes, leads tax compliance, maintenance of tax records, preparation of tax documents and advances tax issues company-wide through research and advice. The Tax Manager will have experience with complex tax preparation, primary tax return review, tax planning and mentoring of Tax Analysts. Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required as this role is responsible to translate tax laws into tax requirements and the ability to explain to non-tax personnel.

- Oversees corporate income tax (federal, Canadian, state and local) for all company entities.
- Oversees sales taxes, property taxes and indirect measures Manage complex preparation of taxes filling and reports.
- Lead tax compliance matters at all levels of the company and across jurisdictions where the company operates.
- Partner with business units to ensure appropriate consideration of tax implications of business initiatives and transactions, performing research or liaising with external advisors as necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the aptitude to adjust communication style based on audience.
- Evaluates tax implications of company activities and develops strategies to minimize tax obligations.
- Resolve escalated issues arising from operations and coordinate with other departments.
- Ensure timely filling and payment of taxes and registration in new jurisdictions as necessary. Ensure proper bookkeeping of tax measures.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries, notices and audits. Identify and address tax inefficiency opportunities.
- Mentor, provide guidance and train a team of tax analysts.
- Advise upper management on tax matters, future changes to tax regulations and possible impact to the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree from a fully accredited college in Accounting, Business, Business Administration or other closely related field Minimum of seven years of directly related experience' Minimum of 8-10 years in a managerial role; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
