We are searching on behalf of our client for a dynamic and experienced Credit Control Manager to lead their Credit and Collections Department. This position requires strong leadership skills, financial acumen, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The Credit Control Manager will ensure that cases are handled according to company policy while overseeing a dedicated team to maximize successful repayments. You will implement departmental changes directed by the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer to create a highly productive environment while fostering team unity and building trust with customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Collections Oversight
Oversee the collection of outstanding invoices and make credit decisions for all accounts.
Review accounts receivable aging reports weekly to identify accounts for escalation within the collections process, including working with legal counsel to pursue litigation on past due accounts.
Strategic Implementation
Create and implement strategies to enhance successful collections on debts while minimizing profit loss per company policy.
Partner with Executive Management to develop and enforce credit policies and procedures, ensuring departmental efficiency and mitigating excessive credit limits.
Team Management
Professionally lead, supervise, and train Credit and Collection staff to maintain a smooth and efficient department that consistently meets credit and collection objectives and revenue goals.
Conduct performance evaluations for staff members and establish goals that align with business objectives.
Reporting and Analysis
Run reports and analyze data pertaining to department performance, sharing insights with executive staff and branch managers as necessary.
Complete month-end processing promptly, collaborating with accounting staff to ensure accuracy in reporting.
Client Relationship Management
Communicate with clients professionally to build and maintain strong working relationships, prioritizing client retention.
Collaboration with HR
Work with Human Resources to ensure adequate staffing levels and proactively manage disciplinary issues.
Additional Responsibilities
Review top accounts annually for comparative measures and work directly with Managers, Sales staff, and clients to resolve issues effectively.
Foster a well-trained team that demonstrates extensive knowledge and excellent customer service.
Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Job Skills & Qualifications – Required:

Education
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in Credit and Collections in a lead position, responsible for making credit decisions.
Employee management (supervisor) experience and maintaining adequate staffing levels.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), Adobe, Outlook, and internet applications.
Preferred software experience includes familiarity with Infer CSD, SXe, or Trend (will train).
Communication Skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor and strong conflict resolution abilities.
Capability to train staff on daily responsibilities and departmental functions.
