Duration: Temporary opportunity to start with potential to be hired
Hours: Open to someone on part-time basis (20 hours or so a week) OR a full-time person (40 hours a week)
Schedule: Monday through Friday, Between the hours of 8:30-5pm
Location: This position is onsite in Santa Barbara, but there is flexibility for hybrid days for personal needs when needed
SUMMARY:
Family run commercial insurance agency looking to grow their team with a Customer Service Representative. The customer service representative is responsible for reviewing paperwork, answering incoming calls, mail, etc. The insurance agency will support them in attaining their Commercial Property Casualty License which will allow their responsibilities to grow in their role. The Insurance agency is looking to grow their profit and needs a motivated individual! *This is not a selling role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-The book of business that is assigned; including renewals and new business
-Underwrite and place new accounts
-Coordinate processing and payment of claims between insured and company
-Collect premiums and additional fees for assigned accounts
-Cross-sell accounts
-Provide continuing service and advice to Agency insured, clients and producers
DUTIES:
-Respond to inquiries from Agency insured and prospects
-Assist in collections for assigned accounts by calling or writing the insureds and Contact Company to cancel for nonpayment if applicable
-Complete applications and rate and quote risks for new and renewal business
-Set up new files
-Maintain account files (paper and computer), checking and updating account information; purging as appropriate
-Process miscellaneous changes and endorsements for delivery or mailing
-Solicit coverages or expiration dates for coverages not carried by the Agency
-Maintain expiration list and suspense file for assigned accounts
-Invoice accounts on all assigned accounts
-Take claim reports and forward them to company
-Maintain claim records checking and updating information
-Maintain prospect list for new and canceled (Preferred accounts) update and delete as required
-Call for expiration dates of prospects
-Prior to renewal, prepare key accounts for review, assemble and update entire file and account information and prepare recommendations for upgrading coverages
-Data entry
-Perform other functions at direction of management
BACKGROUND
-High School graduate with a minimum of 2 years of business experience
-Background in insurance is a plus
