Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Distribution Specialist to oversee and manage the distribution process for our products. The ideal candidate will ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery of goods while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and oversee the distribution of products to customers, vendors, or storage facilities.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock for distribution while avoiding overstock.
Schedule and optimize delivery routes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Prepare and process shipping documents, invoices, and related paperwork.
Communicate with suppliers, transport providers, and customers to resolve distribution issues.
Track shipments and provide updates on delivery statuses.
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in distribution processes.
Collaborate with warehouse teams and logistics providers to streamline operations.
Analyze distribution data to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
Report on key metrics, such as delivery times, costs, and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma required; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: 1–3 years of experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain roles is preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with inventory management software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Familiarity with shipping methods, regulations, and documentation.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Physical ability to lift and move packages, if required.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with route optimization software.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
Understanding of transportation laws and international shipping practices.
Work Environment:
May involve work in a warehouse setting with moderate physical activity.
Some roles may require occasional travel to supplier or customer sites.
