TITLE OF POSITION: Electronics Test Technician
DEPARTMENT: Production Test
REPORTS TO: Test Supervisor
Position Summary
Perform production testing of high voltage, high power switching power supplies and associated subassemblies.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform tests on completed units built by the Production department as follows:
- Follow production test procedures, recording data as required, on completed units
- Ensure any malfunctioning unit operation is documented and reported properly
- Conduct troubleshooting of faults using block diagrams and schematics to the system, board and component level
Perform tests on equipment subassemblies:
- Read and follow written procedures
- Download software programs from the network into components and assemblies using Windows based programs
- Properly stamp and log all assemblies submitted to Test
- Assist Engineering in the design and construction of test fixtures and the associated procedures
- Isolate production problems from engineering problems
- All other duties assigned
Other Qualifications
- Must be able to read and interpret schematics and wire lists
- Must be able to read and comprehend test procedures and data sheets
- Must be able to properly interface with assembly personnel when problems arise
- Must have a working knowledge of Windows
- Must be fully proficient with all standard test equipment, to include multi-meters, oscilloscopes, Meg-Ohm meters, Hi-pot testers and thermal imagers
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Must have documented US Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident status
Experience
- 3 years recent experience in digital/analog discipline
Education
- Electronics degree from an accredited technical institute or equivalent military training
Physical Requirements – Must be able to walk, sit, stand, stoop, kneel, reach, fine manual manipulation, keyboard, see, hear, and smell
