External Affairs Representative
Pay: $70.00/hour
Location: Oakland, CA
Duration: 6 months (Temporary)
Hours: 40 hours/week
Our client is seeking a skilled External Affairs Representative to build and maintain meaningful connections with our community. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with local agencies, public officials, and community organizations while advocating for transit-first policies and addressing operational issues.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Act as a liaison between the company and community groups, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
- Promote collaboration with city and county planning agencies to enhance transit ridership.
- Research community transit issues and prepare detailed reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Monitor and track legislative developments impacting transit policies.
**Qualifications:**
- **Education:** bachelor’s degree in public administration, Public Relations, Transportation Planning, or a related field.
- **Experience:** Minimum 4 years of experience working with local agencies, public officials, and community-based organizations or special interest groups.
**Preferred Skills:**
- Proven experience in public engagement and problem-solving with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong research, communication, and advocacy skills.
