Seeking an IT Network Specialist to work for a Charleston based location with flexible skillsets who enjoys learning new technologies to join its cyber team. This person will be responsible for day-to-day configuration, maintenance, and upkeep of hardware and software systems. The Networking specialty will focus on networking concepts such as Layer 1 and Layer 3 networks, interconnectivity, and SAN operation.

Full Time Permanent position
Duties:
• Coordination with Staff members to schedule operations that do not intrude on other concurrent activities while meeting customer needs
• Follow security procedures to maintain backups, logs, and checklists that verify system operation and confirm compliance with classification requirements
• Regularly communicate status, risks and recovery plans to management
• Manage the networking aspects of the system, including connectivity between classified systems, with extra care to ensure that wiring and networking changes are documented and in compliance with accreditation standards
Desired Skills and Requirements:
• Cisco equipment certifications and/or experience, such as CCNA or CCNP
• Familiarity with personal and distributed storage systems such as SAN, RAID, and virtual datastores
• Working knowledge of cyber concepts, penetration testing methods, vulnerabilities, information assurance, and security methodology
• Scripting experience
• Focus networking/Linux skillset
• Datacenter Admin
• Networking, needs to understand Layer 2 and 3.
• Understand and troubleshoots enterprise routing protocols (OSPF, BGP)
• Linux - Red Hat, Centos
Travel:
10-25% travel.
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education
• Experience with hardware systems’ configuration and installation (e.g., chassis install, rack mounting, RAM replacement, BIOS battery handling)
• Working knowledge of hardware systems interconnectivity ports and protocols, including USB, ethernet cabling, fiber cabling, and similar systems.
