Industrial Electrician Superintendent Responsibilities
• Oversee the operations of crews of electrical apprentices, industrial electricians, and electrical
foremen.
• Work closely with the project foreman and project manager to ensure the efficient and
successful completion of projects from start to finish.
• Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances,
apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand
tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the
need for adjustment or repair and to ensure compliance with codes.
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures,
using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility
and safety of all systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to thoroughly follow instructions.
• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
• Proficient in Blueprint reading.
• Understanding of one-line diagrams and PLCs.
• Class A CDL *Preferred*
• Highway Lighting experience *Preferred*
• Wastewater and Water Treatment Plant experience *Preferred*
• Minimum of of 3+ years of industrial electrical experience *Required*
• Minimum of 7+ years of supervising experience *Required*
Physical Demands
Must be able to perform multiple tasks and can handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to,
digging using a shovel, standing, walking, kneeling, bending, crouching, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting at
least 50lbs
