The Inventory Control Supervisor will report directly to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager and will work closely with the Shipping & Receiving Manager, leads and warehouse staff as well as with the Purchasing and Assembly Production Departments to ensure accurate inventory, timely transactions, and expeditious resolution of all inventory related issues. The I/C Supervisor will supervisor and coordinate the inventory and cycle counting work of the Inventory Lead and any other employees assigned to this person’s department.
Job Responsibilities:
•Oversee cycle counting program by executing timely cycle counting, reconciliations, and any necessary resolution that are identified to meet accuracy goals.
•Establish/ensure appropriate and timely fulfillment and management of locations for assembly.
• Coordinate the investigation, reconciliation, and approval of all identified inventory discrepancies and implement or delegate the completion of inventory adjustments.
•Work closely with Purchasing, Planning and Production departments to ensure inventory accuracy.
•Continuously re-evaluate raw material and components storage and recommend opportunities for efficiency improvements.
•Develop training programs for inventory and warehouse personnel to ensure procedural compliance.
• Oversee the issuing of materials to work orders.
• Coordinate the ‘Return to Stock’ process of over-issued materials.
• Prepare various reports on department performance, operations, and activities including inventory metrics.
• Inspect and audit the Shipping & Receiving kitting process and instruct what corrective actions to be taken by Shipping & Receiving..
• Maintain consistent communication with Warehouse & Assembly staff regarding material issues.
• Participate in monthly and ad hoc scrap processing.
• Coordinate and supervise all Inventory purges.
• Participate in the planning, execution, and reconciliation of Annual Physical Inventory.
• Coordinate training of inventory personnel on cycle count procedures.
• Counsels warehouse supporting role staff with regards to documented inventory discrepancies resulting from count / product inaccuracies / procedure variations.
• Establish relevant accuracy targets and determine/monitor actions to achieve targets.
• Establish, implement, and administer a method of cycle counts to control and monitor locations for ‘return’ goods / shipping/receiving/raw materials.
• Establish, coordinate, supervise, and accomplish a minimum of daily inventory cycle counts during the fiscal year period with a goal objective of 99.5% accuracy.
Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
• Must have 3 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 2 years’ relevant inventory management experience in a high-SKU environment or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in building inventory standard operating procedures.
• In-depth knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
• Excellent computer skills in MS Excel.
• ISO 9000+ related experience preferred.
• Inventory Management, Materials or Manufacturing Background is required.
• Ability to work horizontally and vertically within the Organization.
• Drive to be successful and make significant contributions.
• Demonstrated knowledge in general principles and practices of inventory and financial accounting.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) when dealing with internal and external customers, management, and team members.
