A well-established law firm in downtown Nashville is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role requires a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with at least 3 years of litigation experience and a strong background in billable hours tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide litigation support, including drafting legal documents, case management, and trial preparation.
• Prepare, edit, and proof briefs, motions, discovery, pleadings, memos, correspondence, and other similar documents and reports.
• File briefs, pleadings, and other filings in district, state, and federal courts.
• Schedule and coordinate logistics for meetings, travel, and depositions.
• Maintain calendars, including court deadlines and appearances.
• Process expense reimbursements and track case-related costs.
• Open and maintain client files, case files, and organizational documents.
• Manage and track billable hours accurately using legal software.
• Coordinate scheduling, court filings, and document preparation.
• Conduct legal research and assist attorneys with case strategy.
• Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel professionally.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience.
• Experience with billing hours and legal timekeeping systems.
• Proficiency in legal software such as Clio, LawMatics, or similar platforms.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced legal environment.
