Law Firm currently seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support one of our teams focusing on product liability and catastrophic injury matters.

Plaintiff experience is definitely preferred but we're really looking for someone capable of scheduling and preparing/filing basic documents like notices, subpoenas, and cover letters in both state (not just Florida) and federal courts.

Salary: $50,000-$65,000, but the salary will be commensurate with experience.

Location: Downtown Orlando

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drafting and proofreading correspondence and legal documents.
• Preparing notices, subpoenas, and other court filings.
• Filing documents in both state and federal courts.
• Assisting attorneys and rest of team with day-to-day tasks including preparing for hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Managing, organizing, and maintaining documents in Filevine, the firm's case management system.
• Monitoring emails and other misc. communication channels and responding where appropriate.
• Heavy scheduling with coordination of conference calls, meetings, travel arrangements, reservations, etc.
• Coordinating with litigation team, experts, and other witnesses for trial preparation.
• Helping to maintain client relationships.
• Performing other responsibilities as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Tech savviness with strong computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with court systems and electronic filing in federal and state courts is required.
• "Can-do," team-oriented attitude with willingness and confidence to take on new challenges.
• Ability to work occasional overtime.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
• Demonstrated employment stability.
• At least five (5) years of litigation support experience is required.
• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, Associates degree in paralegal studies, paralegal studies certificate, or other law-related advanced education is preferred.
