Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to join our team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will have prior legal billing experience and be capable of handling a variety of administrative tasks in a legal setting. This position offers the opportunity to support billing processes, light bookkeeping, and various client matter management duties. The Legal Billing Specialist will play an essential role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of bills and maintaining financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Billing: Generate, prepare, and submit legal invoices for clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to firm billing guidelines.
Trust Balancing: Maintain and reconcile client trust accounts, ensuring compliance with state and firm regulations.
Bookkeeping: Assist with light bookkeeping functions as required, including updating financial records and managing accounts receivable.
Client Matter Setup: Open new client matters in the firm’s system and ensure accurate documentation.
Conflict Checking: Perform conflict-of-interest checks for new and existing clients.
Spreadsheets: Use spreadsheets to track and manage billing information, payments, and balances.
Other Administrative Tasks: Provide support to the finance team as needed with various tasks and projects.
Qualifications:
Prior legal billing experience is required.
Familiarity with legal accounting and trust accounting principles.
Proficiency in spreadsheets (Excel or similar software) for billing and financial tracking.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
