Established Sacramento law firm specializing in Trust and Estate litigation that is looking to grow its team by adding an experienced Litigation Paralegal with at least three years of litigation experience. The firm provides a high level of representation in trust and estate litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will be able to work well in a team environment, excel under pressure, and have the confidence and ability to assist a case through each stage of the litigation process.
The Litigation Paralegal is responsible for assisting our attorneys with all litigation-related matters. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience with and will be able to comfortably handle the following types of tasks:
• Assist attorneys with case management
• Draft trust litigation pleadings, including complaints, answers, mediation briefs, trial briefs, motions, etc.
• Prepare pre-trial and trial documents, including witness lists, exhibit lists, trial binders, exhibit binders, etc.
• Review deposition transcripts and pull excerpts
• Draft propounding and responding discovery
• Calculate and calendar litigation deadlines
• Manage service of process and court filings (including e-filing)
• Conduct legal research: case law, California Rules of Court, local rules
• Review and summarize legal records (bank records, business records, medical records)
• Research chain of title and legal vesting records
• Correspond with opposing counsel to coordinate dates for depositions, mediation dates
• Coordinate court reporting services for depositions
• Communicate and correspond with witnesses and potential witnesses
• Track all time (billable and non-billable)
Minimum Qualifications
• Must be self-motivated and have strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to multi-task under time constraints
• Must be comfortable working effectively as a team player in a professional office environment
• Must possess excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
• Must be eager to learn and contribute to the overall success of the team
• Must currently hold a paralegal certificate and have current CLE units
• Must have at least three years of previous litigation experience
• Must be willing to work overtime as required, sometimes on short notice
• Must have multiple strong references
Job Type:

• Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

• Litigation Paralegal: At least 3 years (firm requirement)
Education:
• Paralegal Certificate with current CLE units (required)
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
