This Medical Biller *Experienced** Position Features:
We are seeking a Certified Medical Billing & Coding Specialist to join our team in Shreveport, LA. This position offers a successful career path, amazing healthcare benefits, and competitive pay. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of insurance guidelines, ICD-10, C1500, UB04 forms, and medical billing software systems, including EHR/EMR and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.

Key Responsibilities:

Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness, obtaining any missing information and revising errors.
Submit technical or professional medical claims to insurance companies, including those from physician offices, hospitals, nursing homes, or other healthcare facilities.
Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
Call insurance companies regarding any discrepancies in payments, if necessary.
Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurance.
Answer patient or insurance telephone inquiries about assigned accounts.
Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.
Review documents such as purchase orders, sales tickets, charge slips, or hospital records to compute fees or charges due.
Perform bookkeeping tasks, including posting data and maintaining records concerning costs of goods or services or the shipment of goods.
Qualifications:

Certified Medical Billing & Coding Specialist.
Strong knowledge of insurance guidelines and UB04 forms.
Proficiency in medical billing software systems, including EHR/EMR.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
