Reimbursement Clerk/Medical Biller

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Reimbursement Clerk/Medical Biller to join our team in Visalia, CA! In this role, you will be responsible for processing medical claims, following up on reimbursements, and ensuring timely and accurate billing. If you have experience in medical billing, insurance claims, and collections, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain billing information from clients, perform quality assurance checks, and make necessary adjustments to ensure clean claim submissions.
Submit claims to insurance companies within required deadlines and manage secondary claims when needed.
Track pending claims and follow up on outstanding reimbursements via phone or online claim status systems.
Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, partial payments, and overpayments.
Escalate unpaid claims after 60 days and handle denied appeals.
Conduct collection follow-ups on both primary and secondary claims, as well as patient benefits
Prepare write-off documentation for bad debt cases and provide necessary justifications.
Maintain compliance with company security policies to protect sensitive data.
Required Qualifications:
GED or High School Diploma
1-2 years of relevant work experience in medical billing or claims processing
Preferred Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years of experience in medical billing, healthcare insurance claims processing, and collections
Medical billing certification or some college education preferred
