We are currently accepting potential Environmental and Regulatory Compliance Inter Candidates who meet the following: MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ?? ??Undergraduate Level? college students attending an accredited college/university. Desired course work/degree: ?Environmental sciences. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS •Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university carrying a minimum of 12 Semester or 8 Quarter units (Copy of most recent transcript to be submitted at time of Interview/Registration) •Maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Candidates REQUIRED Commitments: * Availability (onsite) of a maximum of 20 hours per week (Intern works hours may vary and be mutually agreeable between the intern and supervisor) * Internship START DATE: Monday - June 02, 2025 *Able to COMMIT to the DURATION of the Internship through Friday - October 24, 2025. ???INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION: ??? ??Will serve in a support capacity for existing staff implementing the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Job duties will be varied, so the CEQA team is looking for a flexible, motivated, intellectually curious recruit. Day to day duties include the following: ?Review CEQA Public Notices received from outside agencies for potential impacts on the District. Draft Responses back to agencies after reviewing existing CEQA Documents, electronically file completed and signed CEQA Exemptions with Riverside County and the State of California, assist staff with development of a CEQA Style Guide for Negative Declarations/Mitigated Negative Declarations and Environmental Impact Reports, aid staff with review/revision of existing Administrative Code related to CEQA implementation, assist staff with the preparation of environmental documents, including maps and graphics, aid in the collection, preparation, and uploading of data from other public agencies and consultants onto District’s internal map server, participate in weekly staff meetings to observe discussions of project development and environmental issues, attend Board of Directors meeting to observe local government process and decision making on District projects. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ??Senior preferred with? excellent writing and communication skills, GIS and database management skills are valued, knowledge of computer applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, etc., experience using GIS applications like ArcGIS Pro are valued.
