The paralegal/legal assistant provides essential support to attorneys and legal teams in various legal matters, including research, document preparation, and client communication. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal procedures.

Responsibilities:

Legal Research: Conducting research on legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to ongoing cases or projects.
Document Preparation: Drafting and editing legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, contracts, agreements, and other legal correspondence.
Case Management: Assisting attorneys in managing case files, organizing documents, and maintaining case calendars and deadlines.
Client Communication: Communicating with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal matters under the supervision of attorneys.
Court Filings: Filing legal documents with courts, administrative agencies, and other relevant entities, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements.
Discovery Support: Assisting in the discovery process, including document production, review, and organization.
Trial Preparation: Helping attorneys prepare for trials, hearings, and depositions by gathering relevant materials and coordinating logistics.
Administrative Tasks: Performing general administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing office supplies.
Legal Compliance: Staying up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations relevant to the firm's practice areas.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field. A paralegal certificate may be required.

Experience: Previous experience working as a paralegal or legal assistant is preferred, though entry-level positions may be available for recent graduates.
Legal Knowledge: Solid understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and principles.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, etc.), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and case management software.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and other stakeholders.
Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines effectively.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in document preparation and case management.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, while also being capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
