We are seeking a Trust & Estate Paralegal for a boutique law firm in South Jersey. The firm is small, close-knit, and places a high priority on fostering a positive, collaborative culture. Position Overview:
The Trust and Estate Administration Paralegal or Accountant will work closely with attorneys and clients to manage complex estate and trust administrations. This role involves preparing tax returns, assisting with estate administration, and ensuring smooth communication between all parties involved.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer and assist with the management of complex estates and trusts, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare and file federal and state tax returns, including but not limited to Form 706 (Estate Tax), Form 709 (Gift Tax), NJITR, PA REV-1500, and Form 1041 (Fiduciary Income Tax).
• Utilize tax preparation software to process returns and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate effectively with clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring they are kept informed throughout the administration process.
• Collaborate closely with attorneys, clients, and colleagues to gather necessary documentation and facilitate efficient workflows.
• Organize, maintain, and manage estate administration files and tax records.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring precision and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
• A 4-year degree or paralegal certificate, or equivalent experience; an Accounting Degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in trusts and estates, specifically with estate and trust administration and tax preparation for complex estates.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software.
• Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and writing abilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, in-office environment.
