A local East Bay organization is looking to hire a Payroll Supervisor. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the following but is not limited to:
-Supervise daily activities when it comes to the payroll team, including semi-monthly, multi-state payroll processing, time tracking and payroll and tax compliance
-Review the payroll calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with state and federal tax regulations
-Ensure timely payment of payroll tax deposits and filing of quarterly and annual tax returns/ W2 statements
-Oversee payroll input, processing and paycheck distribution
-Audit employee transactions to ensure data integrity
-Audit commissions, respond to inquiries and research any discrepancies as needed
-Manage payroll deductions, and insurance premium payments
-Reconcile and pay Worker Compensation, adjusting accruals as needed
-Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements
-Oversee prevailing wage compliance and reporting
-Be the primary resource for payroll related general ledger functions, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and variances
-Prepare payroll reports to provide insight into trends and metrics
-Assist in internal and external payroll audits, ensuring accurate records and compliance
-Work cohesively with HR to ensure union contract compliance
-Provide expertise in software and procedures
-Maintain confidentiality of payroll operations
-5+ years of experience in a similar role
-Degree in Accounting or related field
-Payroll processing experience in a complex, multi division/ state payroll
-Certified Payroll
-Experience with ADP/Workday, Microsoft Office Suite.
