We are seeking an experienced Payroll Supervisor with expertise in processing both union and non-union payroll. Certified Payroll experience is a plus. A valid California Driver’s License (CA-DL) is required.

Position Overview
The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all payroll-related operations, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency. This role directly supervises payroll personnel and ensures alignment between payroll, the general ledger, and operational modules. Additionally, the Payroll Supervisor will assist with system upgrades, configurations, and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

Supervise daily payroll operations, including semi-monthly, multi-state payroll processing, time tracking, and payroll tax compliance.

Review and audit payroll calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Ensure timely tax payments and filings, including quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and W-2 statements.

Oversee payroll input, processing, and paycheck distribution, maintaining data integrity.

Audit and verify employee transactions to ensure accuracy, including commissions and payroll deductions.

Manage and reconcile payroll-related accounts, including Workers' Compensation, payroll accruals, and insurance premium payments.

Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to payroll, staying up to date with labor laws and tax regulations.

Oversee prevailing wage compliance and reporting as required.

Handle payroll-related general ledger functions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

Prepare payroll analytics and reports to provide insights into payroll trends and financial metrics.

Support internal and external audits, ensuring payroll records and documentation meet compliance standards.

Maintain and document payroll policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to internal controls.

Qualifications & Skills
Proven experience processing union and non-union payroll.

Strong knowledge of payroll tax regulations and compliance requirements.

Experience with payroll software and general ledger functions.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Strong communication skills and leadership experience in payroll supervision.
