Job Opportunity: Manufacturing Financial Controller

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive financial professional to oversee the financial operations of our growing manufacturing and warehouse facilities. As a key business partner, the Manufacturing Financial Controller will lead financial activities related to inventory management, fixed assets, and cost accounting, while collaborating with site leadership and departments across the organization to support business growth and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage cost accounting functions for a global, expanding manufacturing business.
Provide detailed financial analysis, management reporting, and support to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, offering insight through variance analysis and performance reviews.
Actively contribute to the planning process, providing financial input on cost forecasting and budgeting.
Set and evaluate pricing strategies for custom products and collaborate with leadership to maintain a competitive pricing structure for standard products.
Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, direct costs, and other manufacturing-related accounts, ensuring accurate variance analysis and timely financial reporting.
Oversee cycle counting and physical inventory procedures, including inventory at supplier locations, ensuring compliance with company policies and controls.
Serve as the primary point of contact for audit inquiries related to manufacturing costs, fixed assets, and inventory.
Support various financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, month-end closings, commentary on financial results, product costing, capital expenditure tracking, and managing excess/obsolete inventory.
Produce ad hoc reports, provide assistance to other departments, and support the finance team.
Lead or contribute to special projects as assigned by corporate leadership and the CFO.
Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting or financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment.
Expertise in cost accounting, financial reporting, and analysis within a manufacturing or production setting.
Strong proficiency in ERP systems and data analysis, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with AS400-based systems, NetSuite, or other cloud-based ERP platforms is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and standard cost systems for discrete manufacturing operations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Experience in capital expenditure management, financial forecasting, and variance analysis.
Comfort with MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook), and capable of managing complex data with minimal supervision.
