As a Purchasing Assistant, you will support our Purchasing Department in day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient inventory management and smooth vendor relations. You will act as a key liaison between suppliers, inventory, logistics, and internal departments, ensuring timely delivery of materials and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
Track stock rotation and manage obsolete inventory.
Generate and analyze material requirement reports.
Evaluate and maintain accurate safety stock levels.
Enter and manage inventory data in our ERP/MRP system.
Purchasing & Vendor Relations:
Initiate and manage purchase orders for parts and services.
Source raw materials and obtain price quotations.
Maintain vendor relationships, including pricing and delivery schedules.
Resolve supplier invoice discrepancies.
Document and manage raw material pricing.
Order Management & Logistics:
Track incoming shipments and expedite orders as needed.
Monitor open purchase order reports and take necessary actions.
Troubleshoot delivery issues (delays, shortages, etc.).
Enter freight purchase orders and maintain freight logs.
Support the receiving department.
Communication & Liaison:
Act as a liaison between suppliers, inventory, logistics, and internal departments.
Communicate effectively with domestic and foreign suppliers.
Collaborate with Alliance partners on product and supply needs.
Administrative Tasks:
Maintain accurate purchasing documents, files, and reports.
Data entry for production scheduling, stock replenishment, and inventory adjustments.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
2-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of supply chain management.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (a plus).
Excellent organizational and detail-oriented skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven problem-solving abilities.
Proven negotiation skills a plus.
