A leading global engineering and solutions company in the aerospace industry is seeking a Quality Control Inspector II to join our team in San Diego. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring product compliance to customer and regulatory requirements by performing in-process and/or final inspections on materials, components, hardware, and assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform in-process and/or final inspections on materials, detail components, hardware, and assemblies to ensure product compliance with customer and company requirements.
• Inspect machine parts, components, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines (including Military Standards, ASTM, ANSI, and ASME Codes).
• Use a variety of measuring equipment, including dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, and inspection instructions to evaluate product conformance.
• Record, document, and manage all non-conforming materials following established procedures.
• Gather all necessary documentation for required process and dimensional data and generate accurate and timely reports.
• Work independently or as part of a team to ensure high-quality standards are met.
• Interact with engineering and production teams to resolve any discrepancies and ensure continuous improvement.
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and specifications to confirm accuracy.
• Certify visual acuity to meet regulatory standards.
• Set up, operate, inspect, test, and adjust new and reworked tools, dies, gauges, jigs, and fixtures to ensure conformance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection.
• Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing practices, procedures, inspection methodologies, and techniques within an AS9100 QMS environment.
• Ability to interpret and understand blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Must be able to read, communicate, and understand English per FAA requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and results-driven mindset.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and follow-up skills.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
• Good hand-eye coordination and ability to move jobs to the next workstation.
• Proficient computer skills.
Certifications:
• Must certify visual acuity as per FAA regulations.
