Our client is hiring a Quality Inspector. This role is responsible for ensuring that fluid system components, assemblies, and installations meet the required quality standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role involves inspecting, testing, and verifying fluid systems such as hydraulic, pneumatic, and liquid flow systems used in industries like manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and energy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inspecting Fluid System Components:
o Inspect individual components of fluid systems, such as pipes, valves, pumps, filters, and connectors, for defects or inconsistencies.
o Check for compliance with design specifications, material standards, and industry regulations.
2. Quality Control Testing:
o Conduct various tests on fluid systems to ensure proper functionality, including pressure testing, flow rate testing, and leak detection.
o Use specialized equipment (e.g., pressure gauges, flow meters, ultrasonic testers) to evaluate system performance.
3. Documentation and Reporting:
o Document inspection results, detailing any discrepancies, defects, or issues found during testing.
o Prepare detailed reports for engineers, supervisors, and production teams regarding quality findings.
o Maintain records of inspections, tests, and corrective actions taken, ensuring they comply with industry standards.
4. Ensuring Compliance with Standards:
o Verify that fluid systems and components adhere to quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO, ANSI, SAE, or industry-specific standards like ASME for pressure systems).
o Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations related to fluid systems.
5. Identifying and Troubleshooting Defects:
o Identify any defects or irregularities in fluid systems or components and provide feedback on potential causes.
o Collaborate with engineers or production teams to resolve issues related to design, materials, or manufacturing processes.
6. Final Inspections:
o Perform final inspections of fully assembled fluid systems to ensure they are free from defects, properly installed, and fully operational.
o Confirm that all system components are installed according to specifications and are functioning correctly.
7. Continuous Improvement:
o Recommend improvements to manufacturing and assembly processes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
o Work with teams to address recurring issues, ensuring long-term quality and reliability.
8. Preventive Maintenance and Calibration:
o Ensure that all inspection tools and equipment are calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate testing.
o Assist in setting up preventive maintenance schedules for equipment used in fluid systems.
9. Collaboration and Communication:
o Work closely with engineers, assembly technicians, and production teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
o Communicate with suppliers or manufacturers to clarify specifications and ensure materials meet quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of fluid systems (hydraulic, pneumatic, or liquid-based), components, and their functions.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose issues and provide corrective actions to ensure the system meets quality standards.
• Inspection Skills: Proficiency in using inspection tools, testing equipment, and gauges to evaluate fluid systems.
