This position involves managing federal and state financial reporting, fiscal analysis, and funds management for a $500 million federal budget with 40 grants, including 7 major ones.
The role includes overseeing cash management, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, preparing and reconciling quarterly federal reports, and supporting the preparation of the Schedule of Expenditures of Federal Assistance.
The accountant will assist with maintaining current grant funding streams, allocate costs, support audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
This lead role requires 3-5 years of grant accounting experience, preferably in state, higher education, or non-profit sectors, and the ability to work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills, advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUP), and the ability to adapt quickly are key.
