As a Tax Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and filing tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations. You’ll provide expert advice, ensure compliance with tax laws, and identify opportunities to minimize liabilities. Your goal? To help our clients navigate tax season with confidence and clarity, while contributing to the overall financial success of our firm.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Tax Preparation & Filing: Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring all filings are completed on time.
Client Consultations: Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, helping them understand their tax obligations and identify strategies to reduce liabilities.
Research & Analysis: Stay up-to-date on the latest tax laws, regulations, and best practices. Conduct research to provide clients with the most current and accurate tax advice.
Financial Reporting: Assist clients in understanding their financial status by interpreting financial statements and preparing tax projections.
Audit Support: If needed, assist clients in responding to tax audits, providing documentation, and ensuring compliance.
Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure tax processes are streamlined and that we’re meeting client needs effectively and efficiently.
Continuous Learning: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay ahead in the ever-changing world of taxation. Whether it’s a certification, course, or seminar, you’ll have the resources to grow.
What You Bring to the Table:
Tax Expertise: You have solid experience in tax preparation and a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws. Experience with corporate, individual, and partnership returns is highly preferred.
Attention to Detail: You are meticulous in your work, ensuring that all returns are accurate and in compliance with applicable laws.
Problem-Solving Skills: You’re able to analyze complex financial data and present solutions that are in the best interest of your clients.
Strong Communication: You’re comfortable communicating with clients to explain tax concepts in an easy-to-understand way, and you’re also great at writing clear and concise reports.
Organizational Skills: You know how to manage your time effectively, meet deadlines, and juggle multiple client projects without missing a detail.
Technology Proficiency: You’re familiar with tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Drake, or similar), Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting tools. Experience with cloud-based tax systems is a plus.
Education & Experience: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. CPA or EA certification is preferred. 2-4 years of tax experience in a public accounting environment is ideal, but we’re open to talented individuals who are eager to learn and grow!
