Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Tax Manger to join our team in Puerto Rico. The ideal candidate will have experience in both Puerto Rico income tax law and United States income tax law. This person will be responsible for interfacing with clients, preparing and filing tax returns, advising clients on tax strategies, and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws.
Responsibilities:
· Manage client relationships
· Identify potential tax planning opportunities
· Collaborate with firm director and other tax managers on unclear tax laws and potential planning opportunities
· Tax return review
· Budget Review w/Practice Manager & Firm Director
· Help implement efficiencies to ensure projects are within budgeted time
· Implementation of scope of client project
· Ensure consistency in tax return and accounting deliverables
· Process and/or review highly complex individual & business returns
· Research / resolve tax issues and implement creative ideas
· Cost benefit analysis
· Tax Pro Client Management – Quarterly Review of Books, Tax Projections, Calls and in-person meetings with client to review & project potential tax liabilities
· Coordinate tasks ranging from basic accounting and bookkeeping to complex entity structuring
· Communicate options and alternative scenarios to clients to provide value
· Review financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations
· Future responsibilities based on growth/scale
o Staff training and development
o Delegate return preparation to the most cost-effective staf
