Our client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Tax Specialist with expertise in Lacerte and QuickBooks to join our team. As a Tax Specialist, you will play a key role in preparing tax returns, providing clients with tax planning services, and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both individual and business taxation, a deep understanding of accounting software, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

In this role you will prepare and file accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. The Tax Specialist will utilize QuickBooks to prepare and analyze financial statements, ensure proper accounting of transactions, and assist clients with bookkeeping and tax-related queries.

The Tax Specialist will review clients' financial records and statements to ensure tax filings are accurate and compliant with tax laws and regulations as well as provide tax planning and advice to clients, helping them minimize their tax liability and maximize potential deductions and credits.

Int this role you will respond to client inquiries, provide exceptional customer service, and offer tax-related guidance throughout the year as well as stay current on tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with any changes or updates.

For this Tax Specialist role, you will assist clients with tax-related issues such as audits, penalties, and disputes with the IRS or state tax agencies, collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflows and timely tax filings as well as always maintain confidentiality and integrity of client information.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Proven experience with Lacerte Tax Software and QuickBooks (required).
Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations for individuals and businesses.
Previous experience in tax preparation, tax planning, and financial reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide clear explanations to clients.
Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
CPA or EA designation (preferred but not required).
