JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the setup, operation, and routine maintenance of precision grinding equipment used to sharpen and recondition various types of cutting tools, including drills, end mills, milling cutters, and other metalworking tools.
This position includes work affecting conformity to product requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Inspect and assess the condition of cutting tools to determine the extent of reconditioning required.
• Set up and adjust grinding machines to achieve the desired specifications, including selecting appropriate grinding wheels, fixtures, and other tooling.
• Operate precision grinding equipment to sharpen tools according to specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Use Monoset grinder to grind outside diameters to tolerances as close as .00005
• Monitor and adjust machine settings to achieve desired tool geometry and surface finish.
• Inspect cutting tool for dimensional accuracy and surface finish using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, indicating micrometer, caliper, comparator.
• Make adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards.
• Ensure that finished products meet quality standards and conform to provided sketch.
• Remove and rebraze carbide inserts on cutting tools.
• Work closely with other members of the production team, including machinists, engineers, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth operations.
• Communicate effectively to convey important information related to the grinding process.
• Evaluate and prioritize workload according to needs.
• Assist team members when current responsibilities have been completed.
