Job Title: Construction Superintendent (Construction Company)

Location: projects are primarily on the West Coast - The Superintendent will travel and be scheduled to go back home for a long weekend every 3-4 weeks.

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee our construction projects from start to completion. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for coordinating all site activities, managing subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety standards, and maintaining the project schedule and budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of construction procedures, regulations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:
• Plan and schedule construction activities in accordance with project timelines.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring all tasks are completed on time.
Site Management:
• Supervise all construction activities and personnel on-site.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with building and safety regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with specifications.
Budget and Resource Management:
• Manage project budget and track expenses.
• Procure materials and equipment necessary for construction activities.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective solutions.
Team Leadership and Communication:
• Lead, motivate, and manage the construction team, including subcontractors and laborers.
• Communicate project progress, issues, and changes to stakeholders regularly.
• Resolve conflicts or issues that arise during construction promptly and effectively.
Safety and Quality Control:
• Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures on-site.
• Ensure that all work meets quality standards and specifications.
• Address any safety or quality concerns immediately.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar role in construction management. Minimum of 5 years of experience required.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred). Relevant work experience may substitute for formal education.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30-hour, First Aid/CPR) are a plus.
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Must be willing to travel out of state.
