Short Description:

An E-Commerce Assistant supports the daily operation of online stores and digital sales channels. They update product listings, maintain accurate inventory and order records, assist with website content and promotional campaigns, and respond to customer inquiries. They also help coordinate product launches, fulfillment activities, and routine performance reporting. Working under an e-commerce manager or specialist, they keep online information accurate, follow established procedures, and help provide a consistent shopping experience.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Create and update product listings, including descriptions, images, prices, product variations, and availability.

  • Assist with website updates, product categories, featured collections, and promotional displays.

  • Support email marketing and social media activities by preparing content, scheduling approved promotions, and checking campaign details.

  • Monitor inventory records and flag stock shortages, discrepancies, or availability changes to the appropriate team.

  • Assist with order processing, shipment tracking, returns, and refunds according to company procedures.

  • Respond to routine customer questions about products, orders, deliveries, and returns; escalate issues requiring additional support.

  • Coordinate with warehouse and fulfillment teams to resolve order discrepancies and communicate packaging or labeling requirements.

  • Help prepare new products for online launch by collecting product information, organizing images, and checking listing completeness.

  • Gather competitor, customer, and potential partner information to support promotional planning and customer acquisition.

  • Maintain spreadsheets, prepare routine sales and activity reports, and track outstanding tasks or marketplace issues through completion.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • E-Commerce Operations: Familiarity with online storefronts, marketplace listings, product records, and routine store maintenance.

  • Digital Merchandising: Ability to organize products, update promotional displays, and present accurate information that helps customers make purchasing decisions.

  • Data Entry and Accuracy: Ability to enter and verify product details, prices, inventory quantities, and order information.

  • Inventory Management: Understanding of stock records, product availability, inventory discrepancies, and replenishment coordination.

  • Order Fulfillment Support: Familiarity with order processing, shipping updates, returns, and communication with fulfillment teams.

  • Marketing and Social Media: Basic knowledge of promotional campaigns, email marketing, social media content, and customer engagement.

  • Product Launch Support: Ability to gather product specifications, organize supporting materials, and complete assigned launch tasks.

  • Packaging and Labeling Awareness: Understanding of product identification, shipping labels, and packaging instructions when fulfillment support is part of the position.

  • E-Commerce Software: Familiarity with the employer’s platforms, such as Shopify or Amazon Seller Central; willingness to learn additional systems.

  • Microsoft Excel and Office Tools: Ability to maintain spreadsheets, sort and filter records, check information, and prepare basic reports.

  • Customer Service and Communication: Clear written and verbal communication when answering inquiries and coordinating with internal teams.
