Short Description:

Under the direction and guidance of the Chief Financial Officer, the job responsibilities of the Director of Finance include but are not limited to fiscal management, oversight of the financial accounting and timely reporting, implementing systems, perform internal audit functions of processes and procedures.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Supports the organization's economic objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations and directing staff.
  • Develops accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis, and recommendations for strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with corporate objectives.
  • Establishes operational accounting strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service processes, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change.
  • Provides financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information, and advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
  • Maintains sufficient funds by forecasting cash requirements and obligations.
  • Minimizes legally required taxes by studying regulations, presenting tax strategies to management, and filing returns.
  • Maximizes sales margins by recommending product and service pricing policies.
  • Minimizes inventory investment by analyzing returns and recommending inventory levels and reorder points.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years of public and private industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP: Experience with the implementation of new accounting guidance.
  • Miscellaneous: Ability to set and keep deadlines fast without losing accuracy.
  • Organizational Skills: Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with experience managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Miscellaneous: Experience in a business partnering role, including understanding functional.
