Short Description:

A Tax Service Manager holds a leadership role overseeing the entire tax service department or team within an organization. Their responsibilities include developing and implementing tax strategies, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations. Tax Service Managers collaborate with clients to understand their financial goals and provide expert advice on tax planning. Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Manage the accurate and timely preparation of domestic federal and state income tax returns, including proper application of foreign-related rules impacting the U.S. federal tax return.
  • Review federal, state, or local tax returns for businesses and individuals.
  • Respond to state and federal notices as necessary.
  • Assist with federal and state government tax audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and foreign tax regulations while working to minimize tax liability and maximize after-tax profits.
  • Manager experience in all areas of federal and state tax return compliance.
  • Experience in managing U.S. national and multi-state tax audits.
  • Prepares and reviews individual, partnership, and corporate federal and state income tax returns.

Skills / Requirements / Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, taxation, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Previous Experience: Experience as a tax manager, public accountant, or similar role.
  • Software: The ability to work with different taxation software. Also proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Miscellaneous: Extensive knowledge of tax legislation.
